Can you overdose on Rescue Remedy?

I laughingly said I was ODing on it on another thread

But seriously can you?

Things have been stress-y for me recently & I discovered this on Friday.....it is having a positive effect (whether placebo or not) but could I take too much?

Not as far as I know, but if you knocked a few bottles back in one go you'd be pretty damn drunk

Is there a maximum dosage on the bottle? I can't remember seeing one.

cocolepew · 16/02/2010 19:47

No, it says so on their website.

differentID · 16/02/2010 19:48

Rescue remedy is for emergencies, but have you had a look at the other Bach Flower remedies? I used to use them for when I was younger.

Goober · 16/02/2010 19:48

Get some Kalms.

KatyMac · 16/02/2010 19:48

Well it has been a very stressful few weeks & I was really on edge

I am considering the St John's Wort (or even a visit to the GP to collect either Valium or Prozac - but I don't think I am quite there yet)

Mmmm, brandy.

It doesn't really do anything, but if placebo works (which it certainly seems to) then perhaps you can get OD effects on a placebo basis?

Oh and yes, you'll get pissed eventually.

CMOTdibbler · 16/02/2010 19:49

It's just brandy and water, so unless you are knocking back bottle after bottle, no

nickytwotimes · 16/02/2010 19:49

Do be careful with St John's Wort.

It does work and therefore does have contraindications, so should be treated with respect.

KatyMac · 16/02/2010 19:54

I have taken SJW before (I'm not on the pill or any other medication apart from the RR & occasional painkillers) I found it gentler than Prozac & less disorientating than valium

Do the other Bach Flower stuff come in alcohol?

What are Kalms?

OP posts:
Oblomov · 16/02/2010 19:57

RR is not for emergencies. It is for when you need just a bit of help or support. For a short term period. Follow the instructions on the bottle and you will be fine. is it a few drops a few times per day = max, or something like that.
I think quite a few posts on the thread are over-reacting and making out that it is something more than it actually is.

KatyMac · 16/02/2010 20:15

My bottle says 4 drops at least 4 times a day & while my question was slightly tongue-in-cheek, I was surprised not to see a maximum on the bottle

I've got Saskias Enjoy Your Space, a room spray, in my bedroom at the moment. Very nice

LowLevelWhingeing · 18/02/2010 00:20

No

you

can't

LowLevelWhingeing · 18/02/2010 00:51

Saskia

How do you get the vibrations of the flowers into the alcohol and water?

What dilution do you use?

As you are a smaller company, I assume that you have more integrity, so you must have some peer reviewed evidence about how effective your remedies and manufacturing techniques are?

SolidGoldBrass · 18/02/2010 01:52

Nope. But have fun trying.

SaskiaFlower: Oh, good effort. Did you actually manage to type all that with a straight face?
Of course, the reason your essences are stronger than the bach ones wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that yours contain more alcohol and less water...

SaskiaFlower · 18/02/2010 10:00

All I can reply SolidGoldBrass is that for a very long time most people believed the world was flat.....

weegiemum · 18/02/2010 10:03

Magical?

So's my arse!

tethersend · 18/02/2010 10:13

"'My Personal Space' [...]for people of all ages who get bullied and need strong boundaries."

...but not for people who are gullible and get taken advantage of? By 'flower remedy' manufacturers for example?

Brilliant.

SolidGoldBrass · 18/02/2010 11:37

Yes. And now they know better there are still people dumb enough to believe that homeopathy is not utter bullshit.
Whether you're an unashamed con artist or well-meaning but utterly deluded I don't know.
But there is something a little unsavoury about most woo-peddlers and their tendency to leech off the gullible and desperate.
