Will my GP freeze off my verucas or will I have to pay?

After 4 continous years of being pregnant and breastfeeding, finally I can tackle my verrucas. Don't know why you can't when pregnant seem very far away...

I have about 6-8 on each foot, been there for years, getting worse. Last time I asked they said I had to use OTC, there are just far too many to treat now. I want a quick remedy and freeze them off. Do I need to go to a chiropodist?

duct tape - cheap and effective. may take a month or so, but hey, its winter, its not like your going to have your feet on display :-)

will find the link on 'how to' for you - i got rid of one I'd had for nearly 15 years with this method.

?The wart was covered with duct tape for 6 days. If the tape fell off during this time, a fresh piece of tape was put on.
?After 6 days, the tape was removed and the wart soaked in warm water for 5 minutes. After drying, it was then gently rubbed with an emery board or pumice stone to get rid of dead tissue from the top of the wart.
?The wart was then left uncovered overnight and duct tape put on again the next day.
?Treatment was continued for up to two months. (Note: most warts that cleared with duct tape did so within 28 days.)

dont worry about the fact it says wart. verrucas work the same. i believe that it starves the verrucca of oxygen causing it to die. it is important to keep replacing the tape when it falls off/comes loose, to keep a good oxygen free seal. you could also try soaking a small piece of cotton wool in vinegar and applying it to the verruca under the tape to help speed up the process however, this may sting a little.

Go to the chiropodist - mine charges £25 for a full foot checkup, removal of hard skin, and treating veruccas etc

Hi,try asking them again.
I can't think of any reason not to treat because or pregnancy or breast-feeding.
All the practices here get Liquid nitrogen delivered on a rotational basis for minor surgery.I'm not sure if Chiropodists have access to liquid nitrogen.Alternatively you could try neat tea tree oil,or salatac gel.
Good luck.

Dr did mine. Free.

Right will ask doctor refused last time - umm I don't want to duct tape my whole foot. All the OTC say not in pregnancy or breastfeeding!

Don't bother with the 'freeze kit' you can buy at Boots. Despite the dramatic 'leave on for only x seconds or your foot will drop off!' instructions, it didn't work at all despite trying the four times it said I could. Have an annoying one from swimming.

In Brussels I had a dermatologist who injected them (didn't hurt) with some anti-viral stuff that worked. Sadly she is too far away so I will now try 'duct tape'. But, ladies, what exactly is 'duct tape', apart from the stuff bodies are gagged with etc in US crime novels - do they mean the brown tape you use for parcels???
