anyone had this? I'm due to have one next week as have had shoulder pain for weeks now and super-strength ibuprofen isn't helping. Does it hurt? Will I be able to drive afterwards? Does it actually help?

Thank you - I am utterly fed up of trying to deal with two children with the constant pain and ready to try anything, just need to be prepared in case I won't be able to pick the kids up from nursery.
Hip must be horrible - are you OK now?

I had one in the autumn. the actual shot was fine, no probs at all. I did have a fair bit of discomfort after but the gp felt that it hadn't gone well as I have teeny shoulders.
After a few days the relief kicked in and lasted a good couple of months. Am now being referred to ortho surgeon as my gp says the ultrasound showed a tear. (I did have very very restricted movement which is now happening again)

the shot is nothing to be feared.

had 2 in my knee joints which worked fantastically within days. Have had one in right elbow joint which i have to say was slightly unpleasant. It was for a tennis elbow type injury..it has enabled me to get back to playing badminton fairly soon after

I have also had one in my foot for a Morton's neuroma.

I now leak like a watering can nozzle too

They only work properly if you take 2 or 3 days to rest it and keep the injection fluid in situ for as long as possible

Yes, I had it and it was woooonderful!! They did an injection of anesthetic first and then the cortisone.

Excellent, sounds like it's worth doing then. I'm on NSAIDs at the moment but they don't help much and I can't keep popping enormous pink pills like they're smarties.
