Awaiting blood test results.
I'm 42 FGS, I have not been snogging teenagers, Dh barley gets a peck on the cheek these days.

So does anyone have any advice, just how bad is this going to be, and more importantly how long do I have to stay off the booze.

I got this in my 30's! Doc thinks I caught it from DS2 who had recently recovered from swollen glands/ fever- apparently young children often get it very mildly & recover quicckly- but they become immune. Perhaps a young child dribbled on you?!
My symptoms were extreme fatigue, on/off sore throat, abdominal discomfort due to swollen spleen. The worst thing was the tiredness! I had 3 months off work & didn't feel completely recovered for about a year (sorry!) . I didn't stay off boozr though & was not advised to- told to avoid contact sports (as if I was up to it!)

Sorry meant to say hope you feel better soon whatever it is!

I am surrounded by small child snot and dribble, so plenty of contact source.

I am more worried about the long term tiredness as usual the family kinda depend on me being on top form to function.

I have my lovely parents on shifts helping this week and Dh for half term but then work and their own lives take precedent. Think I need to plan some kind of preschool/post school help at home ,which is unfortunatly in the middle of deepest darkest suffolk.

God this has really pulled the rug from under me.

had it when about 22. once the sore throat/headache passed it was mainly fatigue... that lasted for a few weeks.

echinacea REALLY helped.
