Possibly a bit of build up of 'stuff' in the trachea (windpipe) or that area.
You get calsifications as you age, it's mainly where the tissue had hardened, it shows up on x-rays, the trachea is at the bottom of your throat region, the bronci go into the top of each lung so it would be about there.

I don't think there is, it's an age related thing, they normally don't cause any problems so are left I think. I see them on the x-rays I take, the radiologists note them but nothing's normally done as they are seen as normal, they can occur in places after an infection, they are normally small.

Are you OK?

Think so, I'm just panicking really, just started worrying about the long term side effects of medication I'm on and that's one of them. I've been on these tablets 15 years, but am on them for life and I'm 31...

Side effects don't always affect everyone, the list is a 'just in case' IYSWIM. It's better to take medication then live with an illness.
