Do you remember when FAB banged her head, eventually went to A&E, diagnosed with concussion and whiplash and told to rest? Saw GP yesterday as been having limb problems - he said it was a migraine -

well, guess what? It wasn't and I have really damaged my neck, have been over compensating and the episodes of not being able to move my legs or control them, was my body saying enough!!.

Oh Fab that is awful, hope they are now going to help you fix the problem

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 28/01/2010 14:56

No, they are not. I have been told to take tablets for migraines when I haven't had a migraine and this means I can't drive unless I stop taking them.

I am having to go privately to get this treated immediately and had my first session today. Already he has done an amazing amount of repair and I feel better.

So glad to know it wasn't all in my mind. I was damaged. Renault should redesign their cars!!

That's horrible Fab, but glad you've got to the bottom of it. It sounded really scary.

Are you seeing a physio?

2010aQuintessentialOdyssey · 28/01/2010 15:00

was that the chiro? Glad to hear you are getting treatment.

Lilymaid · 28/01/2010 15:03

Fab - do you have pins and needles down one or both arms and/or do you find it difficult to walk (legs not doing what you'd expect them to do)?
I don't want to scaremonger, but I was once in an accident - whiplash, though no concussion - and had these symptoms and I ended up on traction to get my spine straight and not damage the spinal cord.

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 28/01/2010 15:10

I haven't been able to speak to the chiropractor and have seen an osteopath at the same clinic where my son was treated so I fee happy going there.

Lilymaid - yep, pins and needles, sometimes loss of control with my legs though I can walk. I don't think my case is as bad as yours as no mention of needing traction but I had damaged my neck when my head went back after smashing it on the boot, then the car door, then the climbing frame..

I have to pay but it is so worth it.

I have been close to tears.

Have you been x-rayed again since the accident? When I had my accident (usual car accident involving a rear shunt) my X ray was OK when I went to hospital straight away but during the following week, the ligaments etc relaxed and I ended up with C3 and C4 out of alignment with the rest of my spine (thus requiring some fairly mediaeval traction).

jetcatisfrozen · 28/01/2010 15:17

Oh Fab - now i completely get where you were coming from with me

I really hope they can get it sorted for you - it is carp that you have had to go private though!

I have to go back tomorrow re my fall, but not for my head - which was causing me the most pain, but for my side, which is agony now

Sending lots of get well soon wishes

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 28/01/2010 15:38

I am glad you see why I was so worried, jetcat, and didn't feel bullied.

Your pain in your side is more than likely connected from your bang on your head so make sure you mention it and are checked thoroughly.

sorry to hear you have damaged your neck, but glad you are getting treatment now!!

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 28/01/2010 17:52

I am going back next week for more treatment. It feels great not to have constant pain in my shoulders and back, and to be able to move my neck.

I can't tell you how great it felt this morning to be able to roll over normally with no pain and not to wake up in agony. I am not 100% fixed but so much better than I was.

i need to do something like that, have hurt shoulder so much i can hardly use right arm and have pins and needles down hand (swelling trapping nerve apparently)..can't rest it as DD has SN and needs lifted/pushed in buggy a lot...

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 29/01/2010 14:00

Yes, pins and needles = nerve damage.

I can't recommend my guy enough if you are near to Kent. Definitely get yourself to an osteopath asap.

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 29/01/2010 14:08

Ah, a bit too far to travel.

Good luck!
