orthodontic treatment for 19 year old student - How much is it likely to be?

Hi

My daughter has just started having problems with her teeth moving out of alignment - and is quite upset has she has always had a lovely smile.

I reckon she will need some orthodontic treatment - any one know whether she will get it done free as she is at university or will she/we have to pay.

Thanks

provided it meets certain criteria it would be free under nhs I think

I don't think this is free as it is not classed as essential work under the NHS so she'll probably have to have this done privately, it is normally about 2K upwards. It is possible that she can get a referal to a dental hospital for this, it may be cheaper/free but it's a slim chance. She needs to get quotes for what she needs doing and take it from there.

It depends how bad it is- all my dcs have been assessed as eligible for NHS treatment, and they don't look that bad!

do they have and HC2 otherwise they will have to pay.

where does she live?
Anywhere near Glasgow I can recommend an orthodontist who will do it on the NHS for the maximum NHS fee of £384
