12 week-old DD not had jabs yet - does it matter?

DD is 12 weeks old, and hasn't had any of her jabs yet. She was in hospital with bronchiolitis when she was 8 weeks, so missed those ones, and hasn't even had her official 8 week check yet with the GP.

She's still a bit poorly, snuffly and slightly wheezy so I'm a bit reluctant to take her for her first lot, let alone the second (12 week) or even third (16 week) ones. We're basically a month behind already.

Can anyone tell me if it actually matters whether they are so late?

Hi there, my little one was very poorly when she was born and was behind by the same about as your little one. best thing is to get an appointment with the practice nurse just for her to see if she thinks she is fit for the jabs. don't put them off for much longer if you can help it.hope this helps

I read somewhere that the reason for them being set up as they are is because people move and so it is a way of making sure the babies are vaccinated, otherwise they could get 'lost'. I think this was one of the arguments put forward for the MMR jab at 1 year as opposed to 2 for example.

I was very up to date with my first baby and now my fourth is still waiting for his third (16 weeks) ones at 7 months!
