I finished work at 5pm and my feet are still red and throbbing and sore now. I wear very sensible shoes for work.

I have terrible calluses on the balls of my feet that go all the way round to the side (especially on my right foot), my heels are dry and full of hard skin - I regularly ped egg and moisturise. Usually get burning sensation on the soles of my feet and party feet etc do nothing to help that.

I have recurrent athletes foot as well because my little toe curls under the next toe and my feet get very sweaty at work and I can't keep it dry enough to stop it cracking. My big toes are also about 1cm smaller than the 2nd toe and I feel like that must have something to do with this all?

I wear down one side of my shoes more than the other, the heels are quite noticeably sloped.

I am so down about this. I am sick of feeling unable to stand because they ache so much. I dread work because of the pain in my feet at the end of the day. I keep requesting chiropody through my GP but nothing comes of it.

Any insights? I am back to my GP on Friday and I want to know what to say because I know this is not normal. I am so embarrassed by how vile my feet are

Sounds like you need orthotic inserts in your shoes - you are obv turning your feet over.

In most areas you can't get to see a chiropodist on the NHS unless you have diabetes and problems. A private consultation and foot MOT doesn't cost a lot though - my chiropodist charges 25 pounds for a really good foot decallus and general going over, and it is well worth it

I agree with CMOT. See a chiropadist regularly to deal with the hard skin/athletes foot.

I wear orthotics in my shoes and it has really, really helped. I self-referred privately, and although the orthotics themselves were expensive (about £150 I think, because I needed super-duper ones!), I have worn them every day for the last 6 years. If you work it out on a per-day basis, they are very cheap

do you smoke?

I found out recently that a side effect of smoking is v dry feet partic heels (a podiatrist relative told me this)

if you get recurrent athletes foot, how are you treating it.
do you ankles turn in or out.
Are your feet actually hot to touch or are they just red?
