I'm getting quite fed up with my tooth now!

I've had two root canals done on it and it's still painful.

my new dentist has said my options are to go to a private root canal specialist and have a re-root canal which will cost £££ or have it extracted.

i think i might have it pulled out but i'm terrified all the teeth around it will gradually collapse into the gap, is that likely to happen?

no, it shouldn't happen.

i asked my dentist the same thing and she said they wouldn't move.

she was right!

Last year a back tooth that had previously been root canal filled, managed to crack along the filling right into the gum.
Although there was no nerve in the tooth itself there was one left at the base and like a fool I thought it would be OK.
But of course I got an infection and it hurt very badly.
The dentist saw me as an emergency and said that it would have to come out whatever happened.
He had to give me some anti-biotics for a few days as I could not even bear him to touch the tooth.
Then when the extraction took place, he made sure I was getting as much as I could, even asked if I wanted Nitrox, I said no.
It did not hurt at all, but I really did not like the cracking sounds and they kept making me jump.
I've got quite big molars and it took 35 mins to get it out, mainly because it had already cracked.
Since then, my other teeth are still the same and I don't notice the hole anymore.
It was the second molar from the back.
When you do have it done, just make sure you do everything gently and don't use a straw as you don't want to get a dry socket.
Good luck.
