Dental treatment

My DH has dreadful teeth and needs to get them sorted out or its dentures! Basically they have been totally neglected over many years and the cost of sorting them out has been indicated by a dentist at c£12- £15k!!!
We are seeing a dentist next week to talk about treatment - please can anyone advise what sort of questions we should ask - we aren't eligible for free NHS care and I don't know how we are going to find the money. Any advice gratefully received. Only good thing is the kids have a living example of why you should go to the dentist regularly.

If the work is that extensive then for that price I would say it's gonna take a lot of time. In this respect could you ask the dentist to set up a payment plan so you pay a set amount each month?

If you really cannot afford it (and the subsequent cost of upkeep) then I am afraid he may have to resort to dentures although a full set can be a couple of grand.

Probably not what he wants to hear but neglecting your teeth always costs more in the long run and can have a detrimental effect on your health.

I wonder if being referred to the dental hospital is an option?
