nothing useful to say except --- keep breathing. and good luck for Drs.

JeMeSouviens · 10/01/2010 19:45

Well try not to panic, and yes get to the doctor tomorrow to get it checked. I was in same situ last year, had biopsy and eventually had removed what turned out to be a benign tumour. Don't put off getting to the doc.

Panicking somewhat...I stopped bfing 4 months ago - could it be that??

Hi. I know its easier said than done but try not to worry about it just now. Its normal to assume the worst but alot of the time theres a reasonable explanation for these things. Just get to the docs as soon as you can to put your mind at ease. They'll maybe send you for a scan just to be on the safe side.

Im one to talk right enough. I found a lump last week and am currently awaiting an appointment for a scan. Iv struggled to sleep every night since visiting the doc although they are confident its nothing serious. Think part of the problem is that we dont know a whole lot about other things that can occur. Just try and keep your chin up. Im sure everything will be absolutely fine. x

I have had this
It is so wrrying
you will be seen quickly if you tell receptionist when you call
most case are nothing to worry about and yours is probably one of those
def could be an after affect of bf

good luck tomorrow xx

You've just found it and a prompt visit to the Docs should help put your mind at rest, the vast majority of lumps are benign. Plus, if worst comes to worst, I can say from personal experience (my Mum had breast cancer several years ago) that treatments are getting better all the time and there are lots of happy endings out there too. Good luck.

OK, thanks everyone. I saw my GP this morning. Mixed response - I really wanted him to say 'silly woman, stop wasting my time' but he didn't. He said it wasn't obviously a cancerous tumour (he's seen some of those) but couldn't/wouldn't tell me it's not.
I'm being referred now and will be seen within the week.
Sheldo I'm with you - I keep thinking awful thoughts when this is probably nothing. And even if it is something bad (which it hopefully isn't, same for you), like Jaynie says, there are treatments.

so first step taken -phew
he obviously can't give you the all clear and is following protocol for any breast lump
I found waiting for the mamogram really surreal, I tried to carry on with life as if nothing was wrong and in most respects did that. I would occassionally be really absent minded. The stress was there but hidden but not hidden iykwim.
Take care of yourself, have you told your family and friends?
