Question about breast augmentation and recovery times

I'm seeing a surgeon about having this op next week. The clinic he works in does boob jobs as day surgery. I'm a bit concerned about going home in post-operative pain, and would be grateful to know whether anyone has experience of breast augmentation that they could share? It would be under-muscle implants.

I have a friend who had this done. She had very little pain. It is important that you wear a bra at night etc etc and do exactly as you are told to aid healing etc.

Thanks - that's encouraging!

I can't imagine having had it done as a day surgery TBH. Morphine got me through the first day and night! Heavy painkillers and rest for the first couple of weeks, however, a month or so later aside from the odd sore patch and twinge, the op was a distant memory.

Are you pleased with the result EcoMouse?

Hi flatchested,

This is not probably what you'd like to hear - I imagine that you have thought well about the cons and pros of the surgery. But if you are still considering it, you might want to take a look at www.awfulplasticsurgery.com. I always wonder how all these celebrities with all their money got to look like that... Plastic surgery is risky and don't always deliver the expected results. But then again, it's your decision.

Romanarama · 06/01/2010 09:07

Mango I don't find those pix that bad - not the boob ones anyway. The only ones that look really silly are the giant ones on very skinny people. Surely the risk is more due to scarring or anaesthetic? I wouldn't worry too much about the risks of breast augmentation in aesthetic terms unless OP is planning to have nipples moved etc.

MangoMama · 06/01/2010 09:17

Well, fake boobs do look better on people with normal body fat, that is, if you don't want to end up looking like Victoria Beckham.

Also, did you see Shauna Sands nipples?

Or Tori Spellings "alien" boobs?

Or Jewel's?

Or Nicole Kidman's?

Or Sharon Stone's?

Or Megan Fox?

etc, etc...

Then again, there will probably be no problem with the intervention. I have a friend who had this surgery and she is very happy with the results.

Good luck!

Roman, yes I am. I did not intend for an enhanced appearance and chose the surgeon carefully. His intention is always to acheive as 'natural' looking an outcome as possible and I feel he succeeded
