12 month vaccinations - am dithering

Hello all,

My DD is 12 and a half months and to date has had all of her vaccinations (including the BCG at 6 weeks - standard in Hackney where we are). She's now due the Hib/MenC booster and then the MMR at 13 months.

Now - the MMR I am not at all sure about and am considering single jabs. But what about the Hib/MenC booster? What immunity did the one vaccine she's already had give her? Is the booster necessary?

Would appreciate hearing from others who chose not to go ahead with vaccines/decided against a booster.

TIA

Can I just ask why you are dithering about the MMR?

The link with autism has been disproven over and over again. Talk to a health professional and look at reputable websites written by qualified people.

Take care xxx

Hello fufulina, the Hib/Men C booster was added at 12 months to replace the Hib?Men C she would have had in ghe first six months before they introduced the Pneumococcal vaccine. Prior to this it would have been done then. Like all boosters this one is to ensure she has developed immunity to both - the research suggests that having this dose ensures a greater chance of immunity to both.
Your HV will be able to confirm this.

If you are having single vaccines for MMR just be aware that most places cannot get the mumps compnent at present.

Catrinm, not everyone who is concerned about MMR is concerned about autism. I for onr, try to avoid combined vaccines wherever possible to reduce the impact and reactions.
