Getting the swine flu jab done privately. Urgent query.

I found out last week that I have breast cancer. I'm due for surgery next week and I was hoping to get a swine flu jab done this week so I don't have to worry about another bloody thing. I will probably have to have chemo and I don't want to have any more delay in treating this shite disease than has already been caused by Xmas.

However my GPs have a backlog from the snow no-shows and have also run out of stocks of vaccine . So it seems unlikely they can help so I was wondering if any private medical places do it?

I just found a GP place in London but I have to take evidence of the diagnosis with me but I haven't got any, besides the lump itself which probably wouldn't cut the mustard.

Hi Whooosh - I hope you got my email before you read this? I looked at Breakspeare first. Slackers aren't they.

I think if I go to the GP and try and get a letter that's my best bet. Thanks for that idea belgianbun.

i did,and have replied otherwise I think my response may have not been quite so measured....

hi Pennies - I hope you do get your jab-as you say it'd be one less thing to worry about - I wanted just to wish you well in your treatment and to let you know that there's a thread about bc which you might find helpful/comforting/somewhere to vent if you need to

No didn't get a reply. You had me worried there for a moment!

Thanks MAS - I will look at that in a few weeks when I know a bit more about what's happening because at the moment each time I read up on stuff I just get so scared that it does me more harm than good. I need to keep my head in the sand for a little bit longer!

best to avoid looking up stuff ! one step at a time is the way to go - the thread isn't scary, it's just a bunch of us who have been through and are going through breast cancer treatments and is just really for support and friendship..you would be most welcome whenever you feel ready
