Clogged arteries?

If I am 34 and eat much too much chocolate and cake etc. and have done for years, is it likely that my arteries will be clogged up? Does anyone know? My new years resolution is to eat healthily, but am I a ticking timb-bomb of cholesterol? Tia

you should go to your local health centre/GP and ask for a cholesterol check/BP check and then you can discuss the results and what to
do with the professionals who can advise you
It's too simplistic to say it's what you eat as there are lots of other inputs

Ok thanks commuter that's a good idea. So if you've got low or ok cholesterol does it follow that you're not all furred up inside?

well, basically, yes. But if you don't feel well, or feel you should eat more healthily then go for it! There are too many unknowns in good or ill health. if you have people in your close family who have suffered heart attacks or strokes, particularly at a young age, then you should be more aware. I think most GP practices are keen to support people who want to improve their health, good luck

Cheers! I'll speak to my doctor in the new year. Need less

do you suffer from stress, do you do any exercise & if yes, the type to raise your hearbeat for at least 20 mins ?

Mine is a bit on the high side & I've just found out that it's likely to be stress. When your adrenline kicks in, fatty deposits are released - which if you exercise them 'out', you should be ok.

i too am aiming to increase exercise in the new year
