My husband found a lump in his testicle last week, went to the drs who has referred him for an ultrasound (in January!). He didn't actually tell me about all this until I found a letter from the hospital about this so I am a bit upset as to him not telling me which makes me think he is quite worried.

He is 26 and v.prone to sebaceous cysts so we are wondering if you can get them down there?

Any words of reassurance would be welcome! Of course we think it will be fine, but you worry don't you?

yes you can get sebaceous cysts on the testicles just as we get them in our pubic hair. they are caused by bacteria getting into the hair follicles. Normally they can be quite painful. Is he complaining of pain?

Please don;t worry.
Exactly the same thing happened to DH a few weeks ago and he was also sent for an ultrasound a couple of weeks later. Seemed like such a long wait.

He was told at the time of ultrasound that it was a small cyst and nothing to worry about - seemingly v common.

He's done the right thing getting this checked out. Tell him not to worry about u/s either - DH said the nurse was really professional and understood he felt a bit embarrassed.

He was given a towel/sheet to cover with and told to point his bits upwards and it was done efficiently and quickly - they use gel just like when you have a pregs scan.

Don't worry, sure he's fine.

My DH found a lump too and was referred and seen within the week it turned out to be nothing but obviously the speed of the appointment and the actual lump made me think it was bad ......dont worry and fingers crossed.

He said it is painless.

It just feels like a long time to wait but it is not really!
