Chickenpox and Newborn

My DD is three weeks old and has come in very close contact with chickenpox, she is breastfed and i'm immune (had blood tests when pregnant). reading on NHS direct chickenpox in a new born can be very serious. Should i phone midwife for advice?

I would have thought she had your immunity through your breast milk, but by all means seek reassurance of this fact.

i bf dd2 lockets, and she still got cp, even tho i had it as a kid

Just to make you aware I had chickenpox at 10 weeks old therefore mum let me play with friends with chickenpox thinking I would not catch it again. How wrong!! If you get it very young you do not get the fully immunity and can catch it again. I have the scares to prove it!!

A friend's DS2 got it at 8 weeks or something. He just got a couple of spots, and that was it. He was BF and she was immune. So even if she does get it, she'll probably be ok.
