I sometimes get this on my hands and feet. It itches like hell, particularly when hot.

I find it a nightmare to cure and work very hard indeed at prevention. Always wear rubber gloves, lots of plain moisturiser, cloth gloves when doing lots of housework (instead of bare hands), allergy free washing/cleaning products for clothes and house, blah-di-boring-blah-blah. In the summer I wear birks virtually the whole time, to try to keep my feet cool. Tights are a killer.

I use hydrocortisone when it gets bad but you do have to be careful. I also take a daily anti-histamine these days and I find I get the dreaded pimples less often, so you could try taking them to see if they work once you have an outbreak.

I'm not very helpful, am I? I am sympathetic though, it's very annoying.

i found this today and am trying it out. seems to stop the itching pretty quick. but yes you're right, and rubber gloves, change of washing/ cleaning stuff is pretty much the only way to go. i'd just like it to go and stay gone, not go after a week of steroid cream only to come straight back!!

Thanks. I'll try that. And nice and cheap too!

I've been recommended eurax in the past which is no good for me as it has perfume in it.

I've had relief from sun rash with E45 itch relief (more expensive that £2.15!) which might well work with the blisters.

Oh, and on the boring cleaning/washing front, we are very dull!

We wash clothes with BioD. For cleaning I use BioD or Ecover (or vinegar, natch ). I only use something stronger very occasionally, like a vile build up of limescale on a tap or down the loo.

I use oilatum (junior, as it's unperfumed) in the bath. I use a fairly random selection of mostly-very-eco shampoo/conditioner/face/skin wash, mainly from the health food shop. It's Green People when we're flush (shower gel fab but packaging annoying) or urketram/faith in nature/waitrose organic the rest of the time.

I had this badly for a while. I saw a consultant, who advised that it was probably allergic but wouldn't test me for anything as we had no idea whre to start! The only thing that really worked anything like longer-term for me was an antihistamine. Thankfully, I seem to have 'grown out of it' - although I was an adult when it started. That might be worth a try?

has doc put you on a short course of steroid tablets....also interesting that botox is being used for it now.

hi, thought I would resureect old thread as I have this and found the thread when searching for info. HAd it a few months ago and a dose of strong steroid cream for a week helped. Antihistamines had helped too but now I am pregnant and can't take them.

Did the simple oil work?
