Please don't underestimate what sleep deprivation can do to you. Why did you post in mental health aswell then ? intrigued.
do you want sleep trining advice ? just some sympathy ? or do you need medication , like sleeping pills ? or is it your daughter that you really need the help with ?

Oblomov · 30/11/2009 16:19

oh and I do KNOW. sleep deprivation was awful for me. and i was refered to mental health by a stupid gp, when I wasn't even depressed. but just intrigued as to what you are thinking, as to why you posted there aswell.

mrsshackleton · 30/11/2009 16:23

All I can say is you poor, poor thing

Am assuming a health visitor or GP has given you advice

Don't underestimate what years of this will be doing to you - I think you need to either co-sleep with your dd or get super strict about staying in bed.But I am not an expert so just want to empathise.

moocowme · 30/11/2009 20:10

i think you need to attend a sleep clinic. make sure your GP gives you a referal to one.

That's great - can you try a reward for her every time she doesn't wake up mummy. Maybe use a bunny clock or a light on a timer to show her an acceptable time

I feel so sorry for you, I nearly lost it after nearly two years of dd2 waking at 5.30am and you have it far worse. I'm sure it is making you depressed, it certainly did me. If the incentives don't work then please get a referall to a clinic. Good luck

Am so glad to hear that, brilliant news - it sounds like she's got it all by herself

A bunny clock is (in our case, different versions) a clock with a picture of a bunny asleep and a bunny awake, which lights up at a time you deem acceptable. It's how I got dd2 to sleep later in the mornings, before that she had no idea why it wasn't all right to yell at 5am. But maybe your dd is old enough to work it out by herself

You must be a new woman after two nights sleep, Keep up the good work!
