jess has a few spots on her neck/shoulder.... not sure if this is the start of chicken pox or if its possibly just heat?!

ds had it when I was 6 months pg and dr said it was fine, no risk to baby, but if you are worried about your immunity you could be tested. You could buy calamine based stuff over the counter plus oats or bicarb of soda for bath, but Piriton syrup(anti histamine), can only be used from a year so you may want to check if it is ok with your dr anyway.

LIZS has reiterated what I said in a fairly waffly way - if you want to give Jess Piriton to help with the itching, because she is not quite a year old, see the GP first and get it prescribed.

dd1 had her first spots on legs, me and GP decided "cat flea bites" and promptly sent her to nursery.

hadn't read Marina's earlier post !

jessicasmummy · 23/06/2005 17:08

so do i take her to toddlers tomorrow if no more spots and assume heat rash?

been to docs - think it may just be heat, but could also be cp - lot of use they are!

called nursery and said she wont be in on monday, just to be on the safe side.

HMo2, Calpol and Piriton can be given together. I think I'm right in saying avoid giving MEDISED INFANT with Piriton, because it also contains a mild antihistamine. That's what I felt I should do, anyway. We found the Piriton helped dd loads.

My DS still has spots after 2 weeks (I think) its not chicken pox or measles. The Dr said its an un-specified rash!

I just wish it would go, he is scratcing his leg and belly to pieces. I have tried allerief from the Dr and also Allergenics from H&B but its still there giving him grief.
