DD1 given px for Tamiflu, how likely is it we'll all get SF?

She's not been well (on and off) for 9 days but for the last 2 really did seem much better

Picked her up from school today and she's awful... high temp, achy, shivery, sore throat, cough, headache

Are the rest of the household likely to get it? dd2 is 3.3

Am not sure how long the contagious period lasts either

The only things you can do is to have dd1 cough and sneeze into tissues then bin them, also frequent handwashing for everybody especially after they've touched dd1.

The virus lives on hard surfaces for 24hours so you need to disinfect them if dd1 has touched them (or sneezed over them).

The only way you can really minimise dd2 catching it is to isolate her from her sister completely.

As far as I know its airborne so its contagious while you're coughing and sneezing.

Anyway good luck with all that and hopefully it isn't sf - there's loads of viruses that have similar symptoms so you never know it may just be a bad cold.(hopefully)

Thankyou

Isolating siblings - impossible. They share a room, too

Both have had hacking coughs for days now so it's probably too late for any preventative measures tbh

Even though it could be another virus (which I thought it was, as she had no temp until today) is it wise still to go ahead with the Tamiflu?

i had it, my DH and DS who are both on the 'at risk' thing for vaccine, didn't get it.
oh and i sleep with DH and DS
I never normally pick things like this up and it was my first cold in 9 years! have to say the tamiflu made me feel quite alot better with 48 hours of taking it.

She's vomiting now as well
