I am booked to have my jab soon and have read on various threads everyones reactions but they have kind of got mixed up. Some said just sore arm, bit tired and others mentioned not being able to stand on one leg... that worries me. Just really want to see some figures of exactly how many so far have had the jab and how many of those suffered more than a sore arm.

Please also say if you had the C jab or P jab.

Thank you x

Well, my DD and DH have both been really really poorly with SF since friday last, so I'd say a sore arm is a molehill TBH.

I'm getting the vaccine this week as I don't appear to have had caught the SF from them, and I don't want it now that I've seen what it is.

Bring some arnica cream for your arm if you're truly worried! and rub your arm vigorously afterward.

I have a very sore arm, it has a round red patch and a lump, quite swollen and itchy..bit achey yesterday but 36 hours on all is ok i hope!

rosie39forever · 26/11/2009 11:23

Dd aged 5 had hers yesterday and is absolutely fine no temp and not a mark on her, I've just had mine and so far so good feel fine just a bit of a sore arm

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/11/2009 11:25

dd had a sore arm that was fine with nurofen. Had a temp and felt a bit unwell the next morning and that was it.
dh had a slightly sore arm (less than seasonal) but felt completely well.

Devotion - I think the thing is that people get confused between a side effect, a reaction and an immune response.

A sore arm is going to happen - someone sticks a needle in your arm muscle it's going to be a bit sore after isn't it?

My dd had her jab, Pandemrix, two weeks ago today. Her arm was sore, worse than the usual flu jab she said. She was unwell about 9 days later(temp, headache, no appetite) which I took to be a natural immune response to the vax (it's turned out to be a bad head cold really so maybe no reaction whatsoever, difficult to say).

You can self-report adverse reactions to this jab here and there is also an up to date summary of reactions reported so far.

saggarmakersbottomknocker - great site, thank you for that!

i'm expecting a sore arm, mainly worried about having an anaphylactic reaction. i carry an epi pen because i had an unexplained attach a couple of years ago.

i guess most people who react have a weakened immune system ir suffer from allergies. so i guess my chance of having a scary reaction is higer then someone else or maybe not. i think mine was related to nuts, i;ve had vaccines before when going travelling and was ok so hanging onto that thought.

i just know i i am so wound up by it and because of my panic attacks I will have a psychogenic response - sorry can not spell it and probably have a major attack or faint - it sounds so stupid but this anxiety i have is sometimes out of my control.

I had my jab first thing on Tuesday morning. I had Pandemrix.

My arm started to ache that evening and I had a slight headache. It was quite sore by bed time and almost felt a bit numb at the same time as if I had banged it very hard but I did sleep on that side and it was fine as long as I didn't move around too much. I felt tired on Wednesday evening but I coudn't really say whether I was any more tired than usual!

That's been it really. The sore arm has gradually subsided over the week - still a bit tender if I touch it - as if a bruise is dying down.

mumto3boys · 27/11/2009 14:37

3 DCs. All had jab yesterday. I'm afraid amid the screaming and escape attempts I didn't ask whcih one they had, but DS1 only needs one shot, under 10s need 2. That might be a clue I don't know.

So far - 3 sore arms. DS2 & 3 have various allergies but not anaphalactic.

LaCerbiatta · 27/11/2009 14:40

Got the jab at 26 weeks pregnant. Only side effects were sore arm for about 3-4 days.

brimfull · 27/11/2009 14:40

Had P jab
sore arm
nothing else felt fine

PrivetDancer · 27/11/2009 14:44

my dd (15mo) had her first half dose last week - no ill effects apparent, arm didn't seem tender afterwards. she had the normal, egg based, one, not sure if that is C or P

Baconsarnie · 27/11/2009 14:53

Had it a couple of weeks ago. Sore arm for a couple of days, and felt achy all over about 24 hrs later, for another 24 hrs. Am glad I had it now. It was P.

sazlocks · 27/11/2009 14:57

Had the P jab at 29 weeks pregnant - sore arm for around 5 days and fluey for 24 hours the day after.
I know 7 other people who have had it. 1 had the seasonal flu jab at the same time and was so ill that he has reported his response as an adverse reaction, 6 just had a sore arm and one had the same symptoms as me.

preggarschick · 27/11/2009 16:33

I had the Pandemrix jab on Monday, and my arm started to really ache by late evening and i've had a wee cold nothing major.

me23 · 27/11/2009 16:37

gillisfab · 27/11/2009 16:40

I had P 5 days ago. Sore arm but not really bothersome. Came up in a red patch around the jab site for 48 hours but that went. No flu symptoms or headache.

devotion · 27/11/2009 16:45

i had pandremix on saturay. injection site was very sore for about 48 hours after. have felt fairly rubbish this week, think it's the immune response. cough, lethargy, lack of appetite . am pissed off frankly, but better than swine 'flu i guess.

hoxtonchick · 27/11/2009 16:52

oh, i've had a slightly upset stomach for a couple of days too.

devotion · 27/11/2009 16:55

hoxtonchick - thats annoying for you! are you pregnant or are you under another high risk category?

hope you're back to normal before the end of the weekend.

fruitful · 27/11/2009 16:59

I had Pandemrix in one arm and the seasonal flu jab in the other arm. The SF arm was very sore and achey for 3-4 days - longer and worse than the seasonal flu arm. I was very very tired for 24 hours afterwards - that 9-wks-pg kind of tired, although I'm not! On day 3 I was aching all down that side of my body - the leg too. After that I started to feel normal again.

hoxtonchick · 27/11/2009 17:09

i have diabetes devotion. i hope so too!

Bodenbabe · 28/11/2009 08:51

I had C and didn't even have a sore arm.

devotion · 29/11/2009 13:59

My dad has just finished chemo after having cancer and is still weak from it, he had his sf jab this week and all her had was a sore arm for a day. i thought because of his weaker immune system he would have had more side effecs like maybe feeling fluey for a day or two but he feels fine.

i guess he would not know if it made him feel more tired because the chemo does that anyway.
