Has anyone's child had Celvapan vaccine?

The title is self-explanatory really. I have 2 1/2 year old DD and not sure what to do if offered the jab. She has egg allergy so would have to be Celvapan should she have A vaccine.

my DD is 3.2 and she had it about 10 days ago. she had no side effects afterwards.HTH.

I had it last Tuesday. I got a mild headache that lasted for 48hr, then felt fine. Am glad I got the Clevapan as it has no squelene - you know, the adjuvant.

I have at least 3 friends whose 3 yo girls have had it with no side effects. My own daughter is getting it on Weds. I will keep you posted!

Good luck.

That is very helpful. Thank you.

@andagain: may I ask how strong is the egg allergy? The only contraindication to the GSK vaccine is a severe allergy; in the nature of an anaphylaxis. You'll probably need to argue the case...

...oops, sorry managed to misspell 'Celvapan' and 'squalene'

Glad it helped, andagain. It's not easy, is it, this decision making business.

Am sure we'll all be fine in the end, tho. You'll see. Our children are lucky to have parents who question things and get informed. And we are lucky to have mumsnet, tbh!

dd2 and ds both had it. No side effects apart from very slightly raised temps a couple of days after

Musukebba: my dd has severe allergy (6) but presumed at the moement not to be anaphylaxis one as she hasn't got asthma. Her egg allergy was at level 3 this time last year and has gone up to 6 so I am hoping I will not have to fight my GP surgery for Celvapan given this. Do you think it will still be an issue?

Letsdoit: oh yes, not easy at all! The sleepless nights I had over this, as I'm sure many other parents have.

Thank you all for your posts, I am very grateful for all the information.
