the pill?

QueenFlounce · 21/06/2005 11:09

Mosschops30 - Are you serious? lol.

If you have the contraceptive pill lying around you could take that.

anchovies · 21/06/2005 11:11

You can get something (noristherone or something?)but I always find it never works completely

I've just never heard of a GP giving a prescription for someone whos period is coming at an inconvenient time for their holiday!

What coil do you have? Mirena?

potty1 · 21/06/2005 11:45

Mosschops - I've taken Noristherone in the past with no problems. Not sure if you'll have 'time' to delay now though as you have to take it a few days before you're due, maybe 7 (can't be sure though, only threw the box away last week as they were out of date).

Guardianangel · 21/06/2005 12:09

keep your hand on yer ha'penny. There loads more time for that m'larkey.

Tinker · 21/06/2005 12:09

Yes, you can. My GP gave me some since period due for weekend away. However, it did mess with my cycle a bit and I got pregnant (unplanned) shortly afterwards.

fairydust · 21/06/2005 12:20

i've used it sucessfullt twice availble from the gp

SPARKLER1 · 21/06/2005 12:24

I would say pill too. Start a new pack as soon as you finish the one you are on rather than have the seven day gap.

Well what did you say it for then? I genuinely didn't think a GP would prescribe something to do that. So I was quite amused and surpised!! And I was asking if you had the Mirena Coil in as it has hormones in so it probably wouldn't be a good idea to take anymore. That was all!!!!

Sheeeesh.

hi mosschops

hows it going with your coil? have you had your check up yet? ive got mine soon - what do they do? do you have to have the threads checked or anything?

(sorry to hijack)

QueenFlounce · 21/06/2005 13:20

Clearly it was meant to be sarcastic.... so well and good it is not. Can't be arsed arguing about it though..... its a lesson learned though for me.

QueenFlounce · 21/06/2005 13:21

Can't think what your problem is! I don't think I've ever even spoken to you let alone offended you so as you hold a grudge. Can't stand these snidey little backhand commments thrown in.

QueenFlounce · 21/06/2005 13:23

NP - Is this your 6 wk check? If it is then they do check your threads. It's very quick though. And they ask what your bleeding has been like too. I've had mine 5 months now and am really pleased with it..... apart from the greasy skin!!

thats great news mosschops - im the same, have now decided coils are the best thing in the whole world ever. periods are nice and light (have had 2 since coil went in 6 wks ago) and no pain or anything since initial few days.

hooray! and dont have to take these blasted tiny pills of dread (that i always forgot anyway)

as for the greasy skin, havent had that, maybe its cos i have a copper coil not a hormone one

QueenFlounce · 21/06/2005 13:34

If I had put a backhanded comment into a post like that.... then the poster it was directed at clocked it then tried to explain why it was a bit undeserved.... then I'd at least apologise for my comment! Not just glaze over it. I would only make a comment like that if I expected a reaction... so you got it. Brrrrravo.
In your opinion I am over reacting. In my opinion your remark was uncalled for and petulant.

NP - I have heard a few people on MN complain about the greasy aspect of the Mirena. It didn't kick in until I had had it about 3 months! So yeah it must be the hormones. Grrrr.

nailpolish · 21/06/2005 13:36

stop arguing you two
