I am 30 weeks pregnant with diabetes and beginning of pre-eclampsia and have had my swine flu jab today.

DD started with a temp last night and is very tired and snotty etc and has been given tamiflu (unsure wether to give her it).

Was just wondering how likely is it that i can catch the flu off her is if ad the jab today? I am absolutly scared stiff of getting swine flu. Also i had a chest infection last week and finished antibioics yesterday so will this strengthen my immunity a bit to?

And even if she does have it, you're not necessarily going to catch it. Do lots of hand washing, use First Defence in your nose (not sure if it helps much with flu, but can't hurt!).

Lots of high temps and snotty colds round here, and none of it seems to be flu (doesn't stay bad enough long enough, iyswim). Just very nasty colds.

Elibean do you know if it was swine flu if she would perk up when she is dosed up with calpol? She is terrible when it wears off but when she is still in the time for it she is playing. I think i am just getting overly concerned cos having shit health isuues in this pregnancy anyway x

I think that depends a lot on the individual...if the Calpol is bringing her temp down easily, and lasting 4 hours, then possibly not. The only way to know for sure is by swabbing though, sorry not to be more help.

Totally understand the worrying when in difficult pg...plus, its a legitimate worry anyway. Hang in there, hopefully your antibodies are building up as I type!
