Yes, I found a thread worm poking its head out of my dd'd fanjo although they actually live in your bumbum. We gave her (and us) a one off worming pill, changed the bedding and cut her nails short. She slept in knickers so when she scratched her bottom (as you would) the eggs couldn't get on her fingers and transfer to mouth and restart the cycle. If you are lucky (or unlucky) looking at a stool in the toilet you may see a few live wigglers depending on how severed the infestation is. I am very surprised your gp didn't consider worm. Very simple to treat.

thank you for reply , i have had a good look but as yet cant see any thing wormy down there ut will inspect her stool later im surprised to Doc didnt think of it ...and a little cross ...
shes in bath now and will go to tescos later to get something for t i hope , do you think ok to take even though i cant see worms yet ? to me its worth giving a go as long as will do her no harm , as she cant go on like this poor luv , she was so upset last night ... plus she was soooo tired to .

thanks again x

My DD had the same thing, she was literally screaming in the night drove her crazy.

We got some worming medicine, and either the next day or the day after, she went the toilet and her poo was full of worms

She was quite fascinated tho and wanted to keep the 'wormys'

mumof2000 · 15/11/2009 15:09

thanks loopylou6 , will jkeep and eye out not sure about keeping the little buggers though ..ha ha
Havent told DD thats what i think it is or im looking for as i think she will really freak

And thats what my DD was like last night se said i really want to runout side and scream ...(her words) gave her cool bath in night which seemed to help a little ... cream seems to make it worse ..so heres hoping tonight will be a little better .
will give her another cool bath before bedtime .

A comfort to know im /shes not the only one to have had this .

My dd had worms and she was really distressed by it but thankfully it was cured really easily.
I only saw a worm after giving her the medicine though.
Hope she is feeling better soon.

mumof2000 · 15/11/2009 16:34

i'd put money on it being worms.

stinkypinky · 15/11/2009 18:47

Oh bless,

Worms can migrate and set up home in girly bits - horrid thought.

Make sure you treat all in household, even if not symptomatic, and best to repeat 2 weeks later. See Dr if preg though.

Hope DD is soon feeling much better.

mumof2000 · 15/11/2009 19:47

Thanks will see what happens tonight

I'm not sure that my dd's worm had set up home in her flange, it was just sticking it's head (or arse) out.

mumof2000 · 16/11/2009 14:52

scratch and bath free night last night ...see how goes tonight ..
