My DD is due to have a jab soon.
I thought i read somewhere that one is better than the other as its derived from better tested ingredients?
Have i dreamt this? Does anyone know any more?
TIA

I don't expect you will get a choice unless your dd is allergic to eggs.

I can decide not to let her have it though if i am worried.

I've just been trying to dig up info on this as I'd initially decided I definately didn't want to vaccinate but ds is allergic to eggs and G.P's surgery today have offered celvapan.

Can anyone who knows anything point me in the right direction as to what the differences are and what this means? Preferrably in as straight forward a way as possible please!

celvapan

Maggie - do you mind if I why? Is it considered safer?

it;s the one without egg and without mercury. my dd had cevalpran and was fine, not a bother, didn't even have a raised temp.

then i took my son to a different clinic (we're in ireland, but the hse was initially offering cevalpran to children and when they called my non-asthmatic child up a few weeks later) i assumed it would be cevalpran again.

he was just seconds from having it stuck into his arm when i realised it was pandemrix. he had a raised temp, i had to give him calpol every four hours all night and at 11 am the next morning he threw up. THEN he was absolutely fine. i'm sure it was the vaccine. but, this is just a sample group of two children of course!! hardly scientific.

Thankyou Maggie. I'm still not sure what to do but I'm trying to read and decipher the information out there which is no mean feat!
