Who in the 'at risk' group is still waiting to hear from their GP about the vaccine?

Just curious really. dd and dh belong to different gp surgeries and neither of them have had a letter from the gp yet about the vaccine. We've been told they will get one due to their asthma. I know that it was supposed to take up to around 3 or 4 weeks for all gp practices to get the vaccine for their vulnerable patients, 3-4 weeks if starting to feel like a long time now that we have flu in our school.

Who else is still waiting?

belgianbun - how frustrating for you, its not like you have a huge window of opportunity!

Just received letter from surgery and called - DD1 to be vaccinated first clinic 17th. Letter also recommended others in household so have put us down (but might discuss that with GP as DD1 has apptmt next week anyway).

Good luck to all others on this thread waiting - hope you hear asap and hope no one in any of our households actually gets it before then.

DH is diabetic and got an invite today.

I am 17 weeks preg today and no letter yet, saw Doc Monday who said they didnt have the stuff in yet.

Does having the vaccine while preg mean the baby will be born immune too?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 05/11/2009 11:57

LOF - I think thats what Prof Salisbury said in the webchat.

Belgianbun Its terrible that they've not got back to you.

Nothing for dd or dh yet.

Will go look - Ta muchly Kitten.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 05/11/2009 12:33

He sort of suggests it, but doesn't actually state 'Yes the baby will be then be protected'

He says : The best way for babies to be protected is for the mother to be vaccinated - or words to that effect.

brimfull · 05/11/2009 12:37

I have heard nowt from GP.
Work was supposed to be doing them but nothing as yet.

sheeplikessleep · 05/11/2009 12:41

Pregnant, 19 weeks.
Heard diddly squat, but then I'm still undecided anyway.

KurriKurri · 05/11/2009 21:50

Got an invite yesterday, - am having cancer treatment at the moment - have heard nothing about other family members though. Grown up DD who lives away from home and has asthma has heard nothing as yet.

GreenFlowerTShirtAndLeggings · 06/11/2009 15:55

Booked in for Friday next week.

Abubu · 06/11/2009 17:04

Hi,

I have just booked my jab today for 12th. I called up 2 days ago and they said to call today when they would have more info and I have managed to get in there on day 1 of them getting the jabs in!

My surgery has no plans to inform anyone at high risk that the jab is available. When I called a few weeks ago they said I had to check the website, notice board in the surgery or keep calling up.

Northernlurker · 06/11/2009 17:15

I've just rung our surgery because I'm wondering about dd2 - she has a heart defect (though is perfectly well). They don't have it yet and when they do will be writing out. I have to ring back in two weeks if I haven't heard about it. I had mine today at work though - I am not in an at risk group at all but I work every day with a ton of people who are!

MarshaBrady · 06/11/2009 17:16

I rang up and on the off chance the doctor gave me an appointment for Monday.

They haven't sent out any letters yet.

Still worried about what is the best thing to do.

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 06/11/2009 17:19

I've been up to the GP today. They aren't sending letters but are booking appointments for next week in the hope that they have the vax by then. Should be in on Tuesday apparently

Still waiting and am pregnant with a lung disorder having had steroid treatment in the last three years so have a number of qualifying reasons.

rebl · 09/11/2009 13:12

Just rung our surgery as my ds now might have sf and my dd has asthma. They said they're not starting calling patients until next week.

jumpjockey · 09/11/2009 13:16

My DH is a GP and they've only had enough so far for half their patients in the high risk groups, so have had to go for those in the highest groups, the rest have to wait

mommymeggie · 09/11/2009 16:35

I've just received a letter through the post about clinics at my surgery on Friday.

HannahsAunt- where you able to get the celvapan without having an egg allergy? I am trying to get one too and I'm a fussy preggo woman too . So far no luck with me, any advice on how to get one? Thanks

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 09/11/2009 16:38

i heard on thursday, getting it done tomorrow. Although not sure if I should as I am due in 1 week and worried about 'flu like' symptoms I might get.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/11/2009 21:33

dd is booked in for next week. Pavlov - tricky. I suppose that by doing this its a chance for your baby to benefit from the jab too.
