My "feeling tired" has just upped a gear to extreme exhaustion -from doing absolutely nothing strenuous.

If anyone has any spare energy,(Syphoned off from overactive toddlers???) then please post to Milliways Manoir poste Haste

Also, any good tips for coping with fatigue?

Thank you

maybe it ran away with mine? watching with interest waiting for tips from those who know how to do it all!

Erm. Chocolate? Wine? Coffee?

Or, be very nice to a helpful person and ask them to babysit for the afternoon whilst you sleep (have been known to do this for my sister in the past).

Maybe yours & mine will have a rendevous, create some new sparks and come back rejuvenated?? [hopeful]

Randomtask: I am sooooo lucky that my DC's are beyond needing babysitting.

I have a "heat it up" curry bag in fridge (bought a few days ago) and wine in the rack. When DH gets home later he will be directed towards oven & corkscrew!

Iam however getting a bit worried about the permanent tiredness. Awaiting test results, but when they take soo long you start to feel worse.

Have you got anaemia? A few years ago I was permanently tired (thought it was driving a round trip of an hour on the M25 every evening to see my BF) that I'd fall asleep at BF's within 30 mins of arriving. Then discovered my iron levels were low. A few pills, dried apricots and many bars of dark chocolate later, I felt so much better.

Just worth a thought.

Hope it gets better soon.

Are you perhaps a bit sad about your lovely daughter leaving home and going off to uni? Is she your last child at home?

chachalepew · 18/09/2009 17:25

I'd get your thyroid checked as well as iron.

Pollyanna · 18/09/2009 17:26

so apart from health reasons like anaemia/thyroid etc:

I have found that giving up caffeine and sugar/white bread etc, has really really helped my energy levels. I now am sleeping better and don't have any energy slumps in the afternoon whereas before I was relying on caffeine and snacks to get me through the day.

Thanks all.

I have had blood tests for B12, Diabetes etc as I am having nerve pains, Pins n needles, burning etc - they were all fine. Not sure if Thyroid was checked though?? Awaiting MRI results (over a month ago) before they will do next tests.

DD is going soon, but we are excited about that - and I will still have my very cuddly & affectionate (accident prone) DS at home.

I probably do drink too much caffeine as we have the proper stuff at work - but only Tea at home. Probably worth thinking about.

Could partly be the new meds I am trying - but I was tired before I started them.

Maybe it's my age & hormones etc?

Appreciating the sympathy though - I needed a whinge
