Anyone who has been on tamiflu ... how was it for you?

Did you have unpleasant side effects?

Did it make you feel better quickly?

it's so hard to say isn't it whether it works or not and what is symptoms of SF and what is the tamiflu.

I got checked by doc by the way devotion and Elibean and infection has gone, not got pneumonia or anything but was amazed to learn I still had high temp and flu symptoms 10 days after I got it! He said pain in ribs is due to swollen lining of my chest walls also from the flu not the infection. If it doesn't improve got to go back to doc. Feeling a bit better after weekend in bed but another week with 2 v active children 3 and 4 ahead wish me luck! x

It's amazing how many don't check the side or should I say possible side effects before they take medicine. Medicine of any kind is a last resort for me after I've given my body a chance to heal itself.

Here is some very useful information but not widely known on the Tamiflu vaccine:

Hopes it's of some use, it is credible.

Bump. Exactly. Why take a cocktail for one days reprieve. Makes no sense to me. Research and arm yourself with knowledge then you can make an informed decision. We all have a choice. Unless you have an underlying medical condition I'd let nature take it's course. That's just me though.

Take care all.

Bump! I love the internet. It allows you access to so much research/studies/ and information to arm yourselves before you act. This is the reason I wouldn't take any flu shots unless absolutely necessary. Our bodies have evolved over the years to deal with these nasty pathogens quite effectively without modern day medicine intervening prematurely. Just my opinion of course. You have to make your own.

Polio?
Smallpox?

tamiflu isn't for one days reprieve it's for vulnerable people who are likely to suffer serious complications attached to the flu like my little girl did, it's not for everyone, have you had or seen SF in action lollie69?

Yes I have yummymummy310. My neighbour had it, looked like the walking dead. Would not have looked out of place on the set of silent hill! My 2.5yr old invites himself in as he always does and catches it, has a flu virus reaction without complications and passes it to my Husband but I do not get it. My neighbour had a dreadful time with SF even though he took Tamiflu. In fact he had to stop taking it after 2 days because it caused him sever digestive issues he?s still trying to get over. I would never give any meds to my DS unless it really was a last resort not a first line of attack/defence, call it what you like. DS recovered as he normally would with any Flu virus. Caught took 10 days to go but it went on his own. His body will now be stronger to deal with the next round should it arrive. My DH also let his body deal with the virus itself. Felt sh#t for a good 4 days then recovered.

In short the UK dished out 0ver 45,000 dosed of Tamiflu willy nilly before really knowing the possible consequences of doing such. The WHO, are now brave enough admit and put into print this was not the best approach especially in Children. Only now they are saying this after many Parents trusted the advice given - bad advice as many do not do their own research. We have to make our own choices and live with the consequences. Tamiflu is not a safe and trusted anti-viral, that is a fact. Now SHOOT!

Can I just point out that article link posted does not appear to be relevant as Tamiflu is not a swine flu vaccine but an anti-flu drug. The vaccine is something else entirely.

Not that I would necessarily recommend Tamiflu as we were given it back in early June as a prophylactic and it made my eight month-old very sick indeed. Poor little mite. And yes I did check the side effects but as DH was one of the first people in UK to get swine flu (swabbed and confirmed), it was all pretty scary then and seemed like the best thing to do at the time.
I finished DS's course early. DH, DD and I had it without side effects and none of the rest of us appeared to get the flu.

Please read my experience while taking this drug. I'm hoping since it took me a good twenty minutes to write that it's on here somewhere. Thanks guys, keep doing your research!
