Dunno. Do you do any exercise?

HerBeatitude · 20/07/2009 18:07

Yes do swimming and yoga

OP posts:
nellie12 · 20/07/2009 18:07

do you go dizzy?

cornsillk · 20/07/2009 18:08

Joints? You really should mention it to your GP next time you're there.

HerBeatitude · 20/07/2009 18:19

No, no dizziness, it's just my legs. It feels as if I've been in the same position for hours, you know when your legs go to sleep - but it happens even if it's only been a couple of minutes.

OP posts:
nellie12 · 20/07/2009 18:20

do you get pins and needles - possibly circulation but I would see gp.

HerBeatitude · 20/07/2009 18:22

No it's not really pins and needles, just more of a feeling like you get when your leg goes to sleep. If it's over 5 minutes, I have to hobble for about a minute till it gets back to normal.

Was wondering whether it's just old age (I'm 43) or worth mentioning to the GP.

does sound like sluggish circulation and probably one of those things thats nothing to worry about. but I would mention it to the gp when you next go.hth

juuule · 20/07/2009 18:30

Have you put on weight recently? I found this happened when I put on over a stone and half. I also had a 'heavy legs' feeling when I was B12 deficient so maybe worth getting that checked.

abear · 20/07/2009 18:35

I get this too - I'm 36, fit and not overweight. I also have it in my feet when I get out of bed in the morning so am reading with interest & hope someone can shed some light on this.

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 20/07/2009 18:36

I have posted "What is this?" as I am having joint/bone/muscle pain too.

It is a nuisance.

HerBeatitude · 20/07/2009 19:07

Did you get any ideas FabBakerGirl?

OP posts:
FabBakerGirlIsBack · 20/07/2009 19:11

Nope. Hadn't any replies last time I looked.

HerBeatitude · 21/07/2009 12:05

You've had 2 now!

lucykate · 21/07/2009 12:07

sounds just like normal age related stuff to me tbh

cremolafoam · 21/07/2009 12:14

are you anaemic? low iron can make your muscles size up.i felt like an old woman( iam also 43 ) until I was diagnosed as anaemic.

HerBeatitude · 21/07/2009 12:43

hmm no don't think so, I was a bit when pregnant but don't think I am in general.

I do suspect that it may just be age related and that it's all downhill from here...

mrsmerryweather · 21/07/2009 13:42

I think you are just unfit-sorry- sounds as if you ened to do something like yoga or pilates.
My mum who is 82 gets that- she is relatively fit- and puts it down to old age!

HerBeatitude · 21/07/2009 14:40

mrsmh- I do yoga and swimming.

Should I be doing somethign else? Running I suppose. Oh no....

Tinker · 21/07/2009 14:44

I'm like this, 44, not overweight but do have (normally) flexible joints. I've felt, for quite a while, that I have to manually unbend my legs when stand up. I think it's stiffening joints ie age.

moodyblue · 21/07/2009 21:45

Do your knees make funny noises when you bend them - particularly when you go up or down stairs?

victoriascrumptious · 21/07/2009 22:31

I had the same thing HerBeatitude for about 9 months after I gave birth. From what I was told my sacro illac joint (can't spell that) was out of allignment following my pregnancy as a result of all the bones moving about. It manifested in my knees, feet, ankles...well pretty much all over.

You might want to go see a physio

HerBeatitude · 21/07/2009 22:33

No no funny noises from my knees...

OP posts:
victoriascrumptious · 21/07/2009 22:38

When I had my weird leg thing, it was bad in the mornings and unconfortable to put weight on my feet for a little while after i'd woken so i'd sort of 'limp' for about 2 mins.
The same after getting up from a sitting position

HerBeatitude · 21/07/2009 22:39

Yes that sounds about right.

It's mainly kneeling.

Have just remembered, it used to be when I got out of bed and came downstairs, but that seems not to be happening anymore. #So maybe I'm getting better...
