What does "probable AF" mean - heart related

I am scared to google as it is likely to tell me I am about to have a heart attack or something. Have low BP and periods of very fast HR. Mentioned latest dizzy episode after exercise to GP today and am being reffered for ECG and on the form it says "probable AF"

Very prone to fainting (eg after standing/blood taken)

should have said, well done for going,I'm really glad you're not in AF,it's nice to know you are in sinus rhythm

How were you feeling when the ECG was performed- were you having symptoms similar to what sent you to the GP in the first instance? Your ECG looks normal but a bit fast. There is a condition called paroxysmal AF, where the heart flits between AF and sinus rhythm. If you find that you still get the dizzy episodes, it would be worth having a 24hr or even 7 day ECG to see if that's what is going on.

Thanks

Was feeling fine stanausaurus.

Can some peoples just be that fast? When I was kept in over night it was 140 I think, but they decided it was because I had a sore throat thing at the time, I had fainted and got taken to hosp. So 121 is a good bit lower than 140.

Handed results in to Drs. Should I be chasing her up for info now? Or will it just be "oh well its steady, its fine" ?

well it doesn't seem you have an abnormal heart rhythm but it might be worth making sure you don't have anaemia/hyperthroidism/inflammatory type thing,[as cause for tachy]the easiest way to do so being full blood count,ESR ,TFT,bld sugar,U & E if not already done.
I would say its not really normal to have resting pulse of 120 so get them to check it out~ imo there should be a reason for it

that's ok giraafes

I read the link and found it interesting

The best approach would be

1.think carefully about whether you are healthy,or whether you have any symptoms suggesting an area of ill health you can pinpoint

2.Ask GP for baseline blood screen as mentioned before if not already done.

3.Ask GP for referral to cardiologist/physician with cardiology interest,in view of being symptomatic and having a documented sinus tachycardia
