Warning before you read!! This might be too graphic!

I have mentioned to my GP ages ago that sex was very painful with my husband since dd was born 2 years ago. then traumatic bad divorce a year ago and really it was not my priority to sort out or even think about that so I have not pushed the issue with my GP. Now I could not care less about my sex life as I am put off relationship/sex with men. But i am still thinking that I might have a problem down there.
After 2 years of giving birth (very quick easy birth, no rips)I can still feel the cervix very very low and the walls of the vagina very flabby.
If I ever feel like having sx again, I doubt I could as I an berealy fit a tampon in length.

should I ask for an internal examination with a specialist? I was never offered an internal examination following the birth. whatever the problem is, if there is one, is this common?

Any ideas?
Thank you for reading my embarrassing problem

U NEED TO SPEAK TO gp AND THEY'LL HAVE A LOOK. IT COULD BE A PROLASPE. oops sorry caps.

is it serious? is it permanent? what is the treatment?

pelvic floor exercises, weights (dont ask!!), if that doesnt work then surgery is an option. atm pelvic floor exercises seem to be working for me.

I'm having prolapse surgery in two weeks, there's a lot of info on this thread plus other MNers experiences. There is a longer thread somewhere, I'll have a search if you think it would help?

BarbaraX · 17/05/2005 13:39

now I know what my problem may be, I have found a lot of sites on google, there are several types of prolapse and degrees, maybe mine is mild version.

I am going to the doctors this week

I need to know how bad.

Thank you isdee for identity a very likely possibility

oh my god serenity I am reading that thread now. I am going to the doctors tomorrow mornign. I am really worried now. I really tried to ignore it but I better do something about it.

I hope I can get a woman gp tomorrow. new surgery as I moved house. so worried about that too. I have private medical insurance with my work, maybe this is the time it becomes really useful

I wouldn't worry too much, surgery is the last resort really. Hopefully, if you do have a prolapse, it'll be enough just to be referred to a good physiotherapist who can get you working those pelvic floors
