tight feeling in calf

i have convinced myself it is a blood clot, as i am a lot a little overweight an know that that is a contributing factor.

I have had it for a couple of days now, really uncomfortable - i thought it was cramp at first, but now it is really feeling tight and very painful!

I have just taken some profen, but that hasnt seemed to have made a difference. The only time is stops hurting as much is if i curl my leg round under me IYSWIM, but even then, the pain comes back.

Not really sure of what info i need to post, but does anyone know of anything that will help?

Did they rule out cellulitis?

no idea ggirl . I was in so much pain and a bit spacey that i didnt think to ask that if it wasnt a clot then what was it.

Looking at my discharge letter it says "clinically there was some tenderness of right leg laterally but no swelling. D dimers came back as normal discharged on analgesics."

It then says under further appoinments:

OP app given - YES (??????? i wasnt told!)
Certificate given - NO

I now have a pain in my hip due to all the bloomin limping!! (i am not really such a wus - honest!)

Sorry - but I think you need to go back. Not good enough, IMO to leave you in that state.

ggirl has mentioned cellulitis - they should rule that out - although usually there is redness with cellulitis.

I am sorry you are in so much pain .

am on hold, but they say they are only dealing with urgent cases. I am worried that they will say this not urgent - but the pain is urgent to me!!

thought i would post an update

Saw my GP yesterday, who - in the absence of any other problem - diagnosed a pulled muscle in my calf. So at least now i can stop worrying over more serious complaints

It still hurts like hell though!! How long does a pulled muscle take to recover?

And thanks to all for the advice/support/kind words

Glad to hear you have a diagnosis.

I pulled a muscle in my arm a few years ago - it took a few weeks to get better.
