Lump in my throat every time I drink.

Everytime I have a cold drink, from the very first mouthful a lump appears in my throat, its about half way down and feels like its on the back wall of my throat, it lasts around an hour and is quite uncomfortable, this has been happening for a couple of weeks now, any ideas what could be wrong?

Sorry I have no idea. Was thinking at first tonsils but you would probably get other symptoms if they were englarged? Only cold drinks as well, not food?

Hopeful bump in case someone with more knowledge (or at least some knowledge unlike me) comes along.

I'm not going to be much help I'm afraid but thought I'd reassure
I was regularly getting a lump in the throat feeling. Saw the gp as I was convinced I had cancer, and it turned out to be excess stomach acid. I took some tablets for about 6 weeks and now it's gone. Occasionally I get it when I'm stressed but then acid usually turns up as well.

I have something similar when I get really stressed - like ingles, it's excess acid. Feels like I've got a half chewed Haribo at the back of my throat. (But I have it all the time, not just when I have a drink, so it could be something different - sorry if this isn't helpful!)

Thanks am definately not stressed, and no it does'nt happen after eating, just immediately with cold/room temp drinks, does'nt happen with hot drinks.

You totally need to get this checkedout - please see your gp x

This rings a bell - I'm sure my grandmother had this and it was a hiatus hernia whatever that is
