I was supposed to have my gallbladder out in April, but I hadn't had an attack for 4 months and to be honest I got scared, so I cancelled it. Big mistake I'm now getting more attacks than ever, they're not as easily predictable as they once were and the dihydrocodeine is no longer working.

I have a docs appointment for this afternoon to start the whole process again and hopefully get some new pain medication. But I feel so miserable and so stupid because it all would've been over by now if I hadn't backed out. And now I've got about 4 months of waiting and pain and worry again.

tamarto I had keyhole and was driving about two weeks later. I could have done so sooner, but I rarely use the car these days and just didn't need to go anywhere as most things are on my doorstep here.

If you are comfortable enough to not be afraid of carrying out an emergency stop then you are usually deemed OK to drive.

Tamarto - the driving thing was a bit of a shocker for me. I had keyhole op but an hour before surgery the nurse said "by the way we need to tell you not to do any driving for two weeks just in case you need to do an emergency stop".

Luckily I do not drive at all but I did suggest they might have told me a bit earlier than an hour before the operation! Some people depend on being able to drive.

TBH I did think I had recovered by two weeks but in reality it takes six to be properly recovered. My Mum found the same thing. I would say, do not try to do too much too early - even if you feel like it.

Ah ok, that's good to know, Thanks

I don't drive but was told 2 wks too.
I did over do it and the nurse told me i needed to rest more. I was walking DC to school a week after op. School is a mile walk away!

Xposted with EvenBetaDad - That's not so good, although it was what i was excpecting.

Tamarto - I have them worse around my period too! Except people look at me weird when I say that!!

Sorry I missed all the gallbladder chat had to go to bed early as I was worn out, forgot to say I have a gallbladder infection right now so I got antibiotics yesterday as well.

I am hoping I won't be too bad after surgery. I've had a c-section so it surely can't be worse than that . ds is 5 now and so not too high maintenance.

My youngest is 5 too, i have 3 all together, they'll have to live with missing their after school activities for a wee while, ah well they'll get over it

People look at me like i'm mental when i say it too, i came off the pill because it was making things worse.

That is quite interesting to hear re being worse around time of your period.
