I have been feeling really tired and very weak and have had a sore throat and swollen galnds. My gp reckons it's glandular fever but I am waiting for a blood test to confirm this.

Do I need to worry about passing it on to thers and does anyone have any advice?

not unless you are planning to snog them
You need to take basic precautions like not sharing food, drinks etc
I had it years ago so I really sympathise with you - it made me feel dreadful. The main way to catch it is kissing as far as I remember !
It can take a while before you feel better so make sure you get lots of rest if you can and don't push yourself to do too much too soon.
Hope you feel better soon

Not not planning on snogging any one other than my dp so I may avoid him but probably too late!

Rest is not really an option with three kids!

Thanks

You've probably had the infection before the symptoms have shown themselves so the rest of the family has probably already been exposed and not caught it.

Glandular fever is spread by salvia, so try to avoid kissing, sharing utensils and sneeze into tissues (all the usual stuff you do when you have the flu).

None of the rest of my family caught it when I got it.

Really try and get as much rest as poss as it can lead to chronic fatigue illnesses if your body is not given enough rest to fight the infection.

You may be completely floored for a few days at least so see if DH can take some time off. I slept for three days solid at the start and could hardly do anything for weeks but hopefully your won't be as bad.

Also don't drink anythig alcholic for about two months as it can damage your liver but I'm sure the gp will tell you that anyway.

Good luck
