MMR red flags - food intolerance? Esp. Dairy

I have read from the very very well informed - like Pag and Peachy, that auto immune issues and other conditions in children may mean the MMR is riskier for these children.

Would such a thing as dairy intolerance or other food intolerances be indicated in this? My dd1 had all the jabs - but d2 is a different kettle of fish. SHe is having her initial programme now, but I am starting to think about the MMR in a different way to how I did with DD1.

Any advice or pointers would be lush - I searched and the search engine nearly exploded!

Thats a great positive approach for ds1 pagwatch. He's obviously a compassionate soul to look at his little bro that way.
I do indeed see what you mean about the trigger. After today I sort of felt like moving to an island away from the toxic overload of modern society.

You know I may speak to him nearer the time, to hear it all again.

Thank you one and all. Expect to hear from me in a year when we have to decide what to do. Maybe dd2 won't be milk intolerant at all and will be uber low risk for vaccine complications.

Also I'll be back when weaning time arrives! I need to really look at gluten and dairy and infants. I had heard about the various cow breeds. Interesting saintly, and great for your family. What did you notice in ds3, and what changed if you don't mind me asking?

Just been looking at your profile pag, to see the boys. Had forgotten about the snow we had! Your house looks like a fairytale.

Thanks tree - I had forgotten the snow pictures were there. Seems ages ago!!!

My boys are lovely though

I have said it before tree - these hings are not one thing or two things - you need a perfect storm of reactions to end up with a DS like mine - not just intolerance and MMR. And most people don't get that lucky

Look forward to seeing you with gfcf recipes in a while...

Just beautiful tree. And how dare you look so good after giving birth

As promised....I'm back Grin

Have read through this old thrad of mine. Oh the good old days. Where dd2 screamed day and night and we wondered if she was dairy intolerant..

......I can't believe I was so dense. Of course she bloody was, and stil is. She went on to have an illustrious career as a Cow&Gate pepti-jnr guzzler. She can currently tolerate very processed dairy, but nothing more than marg. Yogurt was a disaster.

She is 19 months now.
I think it's single vaccine for us, which is a pita becasuse a) the nearest place is a 2.5 hr drive away b) we are broke. As always. I thinkthe best plan is to get the measles one, and take it from there.

Am trying to decide if I should send her urine to be tested at Sunderland. Assuming their research is ongoing and they are still willing. In terms of herself, she is developing fine. Physically right on track, slower to talk but within normal.

She has a few little things that make me go 'hmmm'. Like banging her head when she is over stimulated. Hey ho, we'll see. Toddlers do all sorts of little things.

Is it worth the trip to London to see the head honcho and get the measles vaccine their? Or should I go to one in Leeds and make it a bit cheaper for us? That's still a good 5 hour round trip, but probably not such an epic journey.

And why would anyone even be reading, or know the answer HmmGrin
Just thinking aloud I guess.
