6 months ago my dh noticed he needed to urinate a lot at work - and in meetings was especially bad.
He would have to run ro the loo, then when he got there, would just express a few drops.
This spread through to social times - when he was out with mates etc, he'd need to go to the loo every 10minutes, and not just due to drinking.
At home, or anywhere where he has free access to a loo he is fine, and goes hours without needing it.
He now won't go on a plane, as he needed the toilet badly when the plane was about to land one time, and he can't go to concerts etc, so he has missed out on all the kids school concerts.
He has seen his gp and a hypno therapist, but has had no improvement.
any advice? it is really getting him down

The only time I ever heard of this in a male is due to prostate problems. He really needs to go back to the GP and get an ASAP referrel to the urologist.

prams- if you read this www.cobfoundation.org.uk- you will see that guys get these probs too.

OP- if your DH contacts this organisation they can put him in touch with other male sufferers.

thanks for that. he has agreed now to ask to be referred, although he wants to finish the tablets he's on first. he is also prepared to give the pants a try, just for peace of mind.

evenbetadad, thanks for being so open about your experiences - it isn't a problem you can really discuss very easily. to date, no one except the gp, me and my husband know about it.

oldkentroad - well done for persuading him to get an appointment to see a consultant.

With the pants he should have a little 'practice' with them at home so he is confident they will really work in an emergency. It is not obvious which way round they go when they come out of the packet - DH needs to make sure the absorbent panel come up high at the front (not at the back) for obvious biological plumbing reasons. I wear a pair of ordinary pants over them to stop them slipping. I do not wear them all he time either and I suspect once DH stops worrying so much he will not need them all he time either but just for work and long distance travelling.

Give DH my best wishes.
