Moderate/Severe SPD/PGP Postnatal recovery?

I had mild SPD with my ds and dd1. With ds the symptoms went as soon as I'd given birth, with dd1 it took about 3 days. I gave birth to dd2 on monday after a pregnancy plaged by a much more severe SPD/PGP. I was on crutches and needed a lot of help. I was wondering how long it took those of you with a similar degree of SPD to recover, as I find I am still in quite a bit of pain. Especially lying down and nights are difficult.

Congratulations Go to an oestopath, it's the only thing that helped me and I only needed to go the once.

sorry to hear that you are still in pain, and even more sorry too, that in my case I was in alot of severe pain for about 2 yrs after. The only thing that has helped, is going on the mini pill.

Yet everyone is different, and i think mine is not the norm

I don't think that my SPD is quite as bad as yours. About four days before my daughter was born I was literally unable to walk unsupported. I didn't get crutches as Easter made it impossible to contact my physio.

I had a baby almost four weeks ago. I had a great improvement in symptoms once my daughter was born, although its not perfect. After almost four weeks my symtoms have almost vanished. Its still hard to turn over in bed and I get pain if I walk too far.

Have you contacted your physio?

I shall ask my GP to prescribe the mini pill.

Thanks IDidntRaiseAThief

My osteo told me to come after my 6 week check. Do you think I can go earlier then. I can now walk without crutches, but it's slow. It's mainly the sleeping that's a problem.
DH is calling me for dinner. Better go, before he discovers I'm on here! As he's already told of the dcs for not coming quick enough

I have to say go to an osteopath too, mine got me off crutches whilst I was still pregnant

Although even 3.5 years on after my last birth occasionally I feel a twinge.

It will often linger to a lesser extent until you give up breastfeeding as some of the hormones that produces are what makes your ligaments more lax.

Once my spd improved due to disappearance of hormones then all my other back problems returned
