What do you think this could be?

I met up with a friend last Tuesday, who told me she'd been nauseous that morning, but by lunchtime it had passed.

Then this morning she rang me and mentioned that she's having vv light menstrual bleeding and minor twinges in her womb - but it's not a period as she was ovulating on Tuesay (nausea day).

I have an idea of what the cause could be...what do you think?

Implantation bleed?

InsomniacMumontheRun · 11/05/2009 13:43

I'd say it could be implantation bleeding too.

MrsMerryHenry · 11/05/2009 13:46

Yes, that's what I thought.

Better not tell DH till I've done a preg test, then!

I'm confused. You or your friend?

ThePhantomPlopper · 11/05/2009 13:50

Your friend you say? LOL.

MrsMerryHenry · 11/05/2009 13:53

Wellllllll...me .

If I am pregnant it's not planned, so I'm a bit stunned by the prospect of it. Hence being a bit cagey.

First Response will tell you 5 days before your period is due, as you are meant to test on the day of your period this is their six days early. However, it only has about 50% accuracy at this time though any positive result is an accurate result. You only get false negatives on pregnancy tests. Best time to test is first thing in the morning.

Good luck

MRS MH!!! WHOOOOOOOOOH!

Even if it is a bit early, and you're feeling like a stunned mullet (as DH would say), if it is true then it's still a good thing, right?

BIIIIIIIIIGGGGG hugs to you - it will be fine, honest!

MrsMerryHenry · 12/05/2009 23:56

Thanks thumbwiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitch! A stunned mullet is definitely the right description. So long as he's not referring to my hair .

I'm still having bleeding - quite a lot more than I assumed is normal for implantation, but then I never knew anything about it before now, as I didn't have it the first time around. Anyway I'll wait and see. Obviously! I have never had bleeding not brought on by a period before, though, evert in my life. And it looks pinky-red, as they say is normal for implantation.

So if I am pregnant...well. It's unplanned, slightly earlier than I'd expected (especially as you know I was planning to shift that extra stone in weight first!), but bloody brilliant . Not least because it will make the DCs' age gap much smaller, which I'm v pleased about. I did tell DH my suspicions yesterday - and he was absolutely delighted as well.

Cross - why (ho ho) is it better to test first thing in the morning?

Thanks loads for your supportive messages!

Your hormone levels that the test is picking up are highest first thing in the morning

MrsMerryHenry · 13/05/2009 00:08

Ahh. Makes sense. Thank you very much. Three days to go!
