Is there any way to get rid of "overhang" apron due to being fat , babies and 2 c sections other then a tummy tuck?

Oh please say there is. I am in the process of losing the weight I have piled on through pregnancies. I am still big but no bigger then several friends who have lost their weight and now have normal tummies. Mine however is a proper overhang (it looks like my stomach has collapsed) and makes me feel sick. I can only see this getting worse with further weight loss. Be truthful - is there anything significant I can do about this - it is not so much muscle as huge sag. Is a tummy tuck really the only thng that will do it and if so has anyone had one and would recommend it - it seems a but drastic to me. On the other hand I am not yet 40 and look like I am about 60 in that bit! Thanks very much.

How long sinec the last pregnancy? It may just take a few years for the skin to shrink back a bit.
Also, do make sure you are being realistic about what a 'normal' stomach is like! Is there anyone you could ask for a realistic opinion on your tummy?

Honestly, no there is nothing you can do,

yes as you lose more weight it will get worse but please don't let that stop you making the rest of your body better.

A tummy tuck is a big op, but you should consider it seriously. My GP has been very helpful and I am on track for losing enough weight to really make it worthwhile.

I know what you mean about feeling sick.

it's been 16 months - I was about 4-5 stone overweight for at least a year after my last childs birth. When I was big (pre babies) several years ago I lost the lot and had a good shape/normal tummy - this time (although I have n't lost the same amount o weight yet) my body does n't seem to want to know.

I'd give it a bit longer.
If you still feel the same in a year then it might be something for you to consider.
It is major surgery though, with all the attendant risks. You have to decide where it is worth potentially risking your health against the stress your body shape is causing you.

There is an alternative in that you could work on accepting your 'apron'. I don't know how viable that option is, but it might be worth exploring.

I am nearly 40 and my kids are young - I think I want to be normal shaped again.
