Rash on torso?

Rumpel · 04/05/2009 22:31

Anyone any ideas? I have had a rash just on my torso for about the past 8 weeks. They are red spots which look not unlike flea/beasty bites but only a couple of them are a little itchy. They are differing sizes - some being quite big but most being smaller. No head on them and some are in clusters and some aren't.

They seem to come and go too - it's really strange. They are not bites, not discoid eczema - no idea what they are!!
The only other 'symptom' is I am really tired at the mo'but that could be due to having 2 littlies a 9 month old and a 2.5 year old - perplexed I am.

Hm. Have you recently changed your washing powder?

Nope useing the same one for donkies - I'm pretty sure it is not an allergic rash as it doesn't seem to have the format IYKWIM. I have no idea - you can get so many skin thingies - I don't think it is fungal I am thinking it looks more like some kind of weird viral thing.

Bizzare. If you're thinking along the lines of a viral rash, could it be HSV? Have you compared your rash with Google images? I usually find that helps if I ever have any strange visual symptoms. Just type 'rash' and see what happens.

I just remembered... Potatoes, tomatoes, and any member of that same family can cause a wide range of reactions at any time of life. If you don't get an answer, try cutting out potatoes for a while and see if it makes any difference.

I'm pretty sure it a viral thing. Have been feeling really tired, sore throat and aching. Definitley not shingles or any of those things I recognise. If it continues I'll go to GP but TBH they prob won't be able to do anything anyway.

Why won't the GP be able to do anything? If they agree that it's a virus, they can prescribe anti-viral meds. If it's something else, they at least should be able to diagnose or send you to a dermatologist.

I hope it gets sorted. The flu-ey symptoms don't sound too good.

Hiya - they tend to just say let it run it's course. Spots are fading now although still feel a bit . If it comes back again I'll got to see GP - I hate to go unless I think it is really necessary . Thanks for your help though.
