Im over-mainly for me was the really bad palpatations that woke me in the night-my heart rate would just go up to 200 bpm for no reason for a few hours-very tiring. I sweated a lot which was unusual for me. I had what i thought was an ulcer because i got indigestion and hunger pains in the night-used to have to eat a biscuit or something every couple of hours. I lost about half a stone even tho i was eating more. I was short of breath and wheezy. Blood pressure soared. Anxiety +++++++ Bouts of wanting to do absolutely everything 24/7 to being exhuasted and sleepy like i cant describe. Oh and i was always last to finish dinner -my husband noticed it was taking me ages to eat-i was having trouble swallowing my food-prob due to the huge goitre i didnt know i had in my throat !

Hypo-not entirely sure but feel cold tired brittle nails thinning hair weight gain sluggish everything ?
Just ask your doc for a tsh test ?

Overactive:
palpitations
sweatting
anxiety
excess mucous in throat etc
appetite can vary to being non-existant to excessive
weight loss
lack of periods
hair loss

I had the palpitations/anxiety/loss of appetite and weight loss in my last year at school and I honestly thought that it was just stress due to exams and that I needed to get a grip so didn't tell anyone about it.

It wasn't until a couple of years later that my periods stopped and my hair started to fall out that I went to the gp, and my levels were sky-high. At this point my appetite had also increased to a massive level and I was eating all the time. The consultant then said that the symptoms I'd experienced a couple of years previous were most likely the start of the problem...

If only I could still lose weight that quickly though
