Fucithalmic? (these are viscous eye drops, they come in a tiny tube).
I'm no expert, but I think you should see an improvement almost immediately, and it should clear up within a week. You are supposed to keep using the drops for 2 days after the eyes are clear.
This is a subject rather close to my heart at the moment, as ds has had bacterial conjunctivitis for over 2 weeks now, treated with Fucithalmic. It looks like he may have a strain which is resitant to this antibiotic, so I am having to take a swab to be sent off for analysis so they can prescribe something that will clear it up. So I would say, if you don't see an improvement fairly soon, or if the infection seems to have cleared but returns once you finish the treatment, go back to your doctor. In our case, the discharge took a week to clear so I treated for an additional week, just to `make sure'. But it came back within 24 hours of stopping the drops .
One other thing - it is supposed to be possible to become re-infected through contact with bedding, soft toys etc. So make sure you wash these frequently and you should avoid this.
Hope your ds is better soon.
