i have 2 ds and ds2 is 5 months old. I am 5'3 and i dont want to lose any weight as im not very big but my baby belly is big and i look 6 months pg. I went to the gym today and did a mums on the run membership so i will have a type of personal trainer specifically for mums of new babies but im restricted in the equipment/amount of things i can do becuase my back is injured. I can only use the treadmill (no running) and a bike with no handle bars cant remember what they are called? You sit back on them, for the time being.

I try to do as many sit ups as i can but what else??

I found Pilates really good after ds2. I only started when he was about 2 years old, but I used the 'Pilates for mums' DVD by Lindsey Jackson, and then moved on to the 'Pilates for Life' DVD by Darcey Bussell. I didn't do loads, but enough so that when I was pregnant with ds3 I hardly showed until about half way through the pregnancy.

The personal trainers at the gym will probably be able to help with moves, or there might be a specific Pilates course. You have to be careful with sit-ups as they might make your ab muscles bunch up. Also it might be worth getting someone to check if the muscles have joined together yet, otherwise you have to take it carefully. The Lindsey Jackson DVD shows you how to check the size of the gap.

And if you go to see your GP about your back they might be able to refer you to a physio, who can also help. (The physios near me are very keen on Pilates.)

I have a product, which may help. It is a cream and I use it to tighten the skin on my "deflated-balloon" belly. It will also help losing inches off your waist. Let me know, if you would like to find out more ;-)

Has anyone else got any more tips please?

mad4, I look pregnant too and my youngest is 3! The rest of my body is fine, I don't want to lose weight anywhere else but my belly is still huge, especially after a meal! .

I have been thinking surgery is the only answer for me but I would never actually have any surgery done.

My belly just seems to be flab, there's no muscle. I would love any tips for flattening and tightening it up.

Thanks.
