Post nasal drip (oh yes, and migraines!) I'VE FOUND SOMETHING THAT'S WORKED!!

I just wanted to share my discovery really.

I have been plagued by a post nasal drip for months now, and after trying everything via the gp, including steroids, I have found something natural that has worked.

It's called Sinol here's a link

I have been squirting it up my nose (nice!) 3 times a day for the last month, and it was a couple of weeks ago that I noticed that the drip had gone. I'm still using it, because it has also had quite a dramatic effect on my migraines, and I've managed to get by on paracetamol and not the prescribed sumatriptan. It's marketed for migraines/headaches as well.

I know it's not cheap, but a bottle has lasted me a month so far, and it's not quite empty yet. And frankly, I'm just relieved to have got rid of the torrent of mucus sliding down the back of my throat.

And lastly, I will warn you, it's got a bit of a "kick" to it. When I sniff it up, I can feel it all through my veins in my head, and it makes the top of my head itch!!

[wildly excited]

I'm sitting here on my second day of a migraine, with unspeakable stuff coming out of my sinuses

thanks for the lifejacket girlandboy!

girlandboy · 22/04/2009 12:12

You're welcome!

I just wanted to share my discovery. I can't believe the difference it's made.

I really want to get away from taking the sumatriptan from the gp, because although it works, it makes my left side go weak and numb for an hour or two. Which is ok I suppose if I'm able to lie down at the time, but it happened while I was driving last time which was worrying.

the post nasal drip is disgusting isn't it - I have felt for months as though there is a solid lump of grot in my throat that I can't get out - didn#t believe it was post-nasal drip because I couldn't feel a drip (grim I know) but when I looked at my throat with a torch when I had tonsillitis recently I could SEE this horrible yellowy line of mucus going down the back of my throat [puke]

and this migraine is a corker...is it linked to the sinus thing do you think?

will ask dh to get me some of this stuff pronto!!

girlandboy · 22/04/2009 12:18

Could be linked to the sinus problem - I've heard of it before.

My migraines are hormonal, (I'm actually looking forwards to the menopause) so my two problems were a coincidence.

I got my first bottle from Amazon, but then realised that it came from Allergy Liberation. Duh!!

Have looked in health food shops etc, but no-one has heard of it, so I bought in on-line.

I'm going to show the gp next. I'll tell him that the steroids didn't work, but this pepper spray has.

tell EVERYBODY g&b, if it gets rid of migraines you will be doing the world a great favour

ronshar · 22/04/2009 12:21

Wow I am on my way out so have maked this page but I am desparate for something to work for my allergy/sinus problems. Thank you for some hope.

girlandboy · 22/04/2009 12:32

I contacted the company because I was confused about what appeared to be identical products which were labelled differently.

this page

They explained that because they had found the product effective for two different complaints they had marketed the same product in different packaging. So basically, it doesn't matter which one you buy, the sinus one or the migraine one, becuase it's the same stuff.

Hope it works as well for you as it has for me.

Ooh, I am excited and scared in equal measure... Cos isn't capsaicin the chemical which makes chillies hot? So it's a pepper spray, no?

MarmadukeScarlet · 22/04/2009 12:53

God I've resulted to alsorts to cure my sinus problem/post nasal drip and yep today I have a corker of a headache (I hesitate to say migrane as I am still vertical) which has made me feel week and shaky.

I hate the constant swallowing of grot and clicking everytime I swallow.

Ear candling worked the best of anything, but it is a faff to go often enough to make a difference.

I will be ordering some. Thank you

DreadPirate - yes, capsaicin does make chillies hot! It is a pepper spray.

The "hot" effect only lasts about 3 or 4 seconds, and although at first it made me go a bit "dithery" and wave my hands about a bit, it just makes the top of my head itch now.

Go on, you know you want to.

Eek!

And now bumping for the evening crowd.

Does no-one want to know the remedy?

Last bump of the day.

I had a quick look at the link.
Are the sprays all the same?
How long have you used yours for and most importantly are you still using your prescription meds?

girlandboy · 22/04/2009 21:39

On the second link, the top two are the same product. The third looks to be a similar product, but I've not tried that one.

I've used mine for a month now, and NO I am not using the prescription meds. The steroid spray worked for a few days, but then the symptoms came back even though I carried on using it.

I have used Flixonase for years. Crap only a tiny bit better than not using it.
I have been seeing allergy specialist in London. He wants me to try a new tablet which is only just being used for nasal secretions (nice). I have yet to research it properly as still Breast feeding.
If I get this new spray and it works I hopefully wont need to take the new tabs.
Everyones a winner.

girlandboy · 22/04/2009 21:50

Beconase was no good either.

Good luck

ronshar · 22/04/2009 21:56

Which one did you get? The migrane spray or the allergy spray. I am torn as too which one to tryGin
I dont get migrane only sinus headaches due to allergies

girlandboy · 22/04/2009 22:02

It doesn't matter which one - they are both the same. See my post where I put the 2nd link.

I got the one that says migraine though. But they are identical.

Yes I see now. Really should read better.
I shall order some in the morning.
