Anyone else experience bright light trace (bit like foetal monitor trace or ECG trace)which passes across their vision. Also get patches of very blurred grey where I don't feel like am seeing anything. This been going on for a while (more than a year) but only happens occasionally and worse when tired and do have history of migraine. Am reluctant going to GP as unless your leg is hanging off will be made to see nurse and am clically obese so just know that will be what they blame it on. My blood pressure is high end of normal but doesn't need medication. Have almost lost 2 stone though so may be brave enough to go sometime. Anyone have any ideas ?

I would strongly suggest you see an optician asap. I don't want to alarm you but I think you need to rule out glaucoma. If it is that then you need to be given medication urgently to treat the condition.

Here is a link about glaucoma:

I think you should take these symptoms seriously. I'm not saying it is glaucoma, probably is just a migraine, but there is always a possibility.

Good luck.

I get the bright line of light occasionally. I had it checked out at the opticians (as you should) but in my case it was nothing to worry about.

Like you, I get migraines too. The bright lines are different to the visual symptoms I get with my migraines though. They tend to be on the outer edges of my vision as opposed to central.

I have been getting them for a couple of years now. I do have high pressure in my eyes but was referred to hospital for that and it is causing no problems at the moment.

Have a check up to be on the safe side.

Thank you - will definitely go to opticians and if necessary to GP. Like you Tiggiwinkle the sypmtoms are not same as migraine.
