Just been out with both children on the bike. Got it yesterday and went out twice yesterday then once this morning.

We do live up a hill, so coming home was not easy - had to push it up the actual hill, my legs went all wobbly and had to have a chocolate break

Is it best to go for it every day, or gradually ease in?

I was fine yesterday, I think I'd have coped better this am if I wasn't already a bit knackered and aching!!

Help someone

I have been told (never tried it! ) that walking into running is good to build up stamina - there is a website called girls run too or something like that that has a beginners programme - which I printed out and "lost"...!

Lol Caz

Perhaps that is worth a look, thanks.

I suppose what I really want to hear is 'Oh you will be cycling up that hill by next week if you keep plugging away'

it's so unlikely though

Lat year from about March til July I walked most mornings, pushing dd2 pram up and down hills. I lost a bit of weight and went down a dress size. Unfortunately i stopped in August (start of summer hols) and gradually the weight has crept back on and more.

Have restarted my walking, going for salsa classes with a group of 4 friends to motivate each other and also using the gym when DH can look after the girls.

Just start out slowly and build up your stamina and distance.

Micku, that sounds good - did you find it got easier the more you walked?

Yes... when i started, the route i did would take me approx 1hr. As i got quicker it would take about 50 mins so would then start increasing the distance. DD2 would get bored but I tried to include places that i knew she would find interesting, passing the duck pond, seeing the ponies in the field otherwise she would whinge and cry and it made the walk more difficult.

On the rare occasions I did it on my own ie sunday mornings i would be quicker. In the gym, I can now do an hour on the treadmill with incline and not feel like i want to die when i get off. This time last year I was willing the clock to turn to 10 mins so i could get off.
